PREDICTIONS: Stoke City v Liverpool

Updated: January 5, 2016

The first of two Capital One Cup semi-finals takes place at the Britannia Stadium for Stoke City against Liverpool (Tuesday, KO 20:00).

We have grabbed a Liverpool and a Potters fan to share their thoughts in a build-up to the first leg of the League Cup semi-finals.

The winner after two legs will be marching to Wembley Stadium for the final on February 28 against either Manchester City or Everton.

Here’s what they had to say…

Harry Wright (Liverpool fan)

Stoke City 2 – 1 Liverpool

Controversial I know from a Liverpool supporter, but I have to face the facts that Liverpool are in a patch of bad form at the moment, with the team seemingly unable to convincingly work together and beat an opponent. Coupled with the long list of injuries, Liverpool have a mighty task on their hands.

Stoke, on the other hand, are flying at the moment, and many times season they have proved that they can turn up the heat when they need to. Losing to West Brom will have damaged their morale somewhat, though, and Liverpool will be hoping to capitalize on that.

Ian Davies (Stoke City fan)

Stoke City 2 – 1 Liverpool

A Stoke win by the odd goal. Have seen whole matches played by both Liverpool and Stoke recently and have concluded that both Stoke’s attack and defence will give Liverpool a lesson.

Stoke have the consistent form at the moment, reflected in their league position, Liverpool continues to be inconsistent which is the way they’ve been since the beginning of the season.

Still not convinced that Klopp has got a grip of his squad where Mark Hughes has definitely moved forward with his close season signings.
