VIDEO: ALONSO’s BEST TEAM RADIO IN 2017
Here are the best team radio messages we have heard from Fernando...
If you follow the NFL news on a regular basis, you will have seen a few people giving their Super Bowl predictions for next season. You would have also noticed quite a few people are voicing their support for the Detroit Lions.
As the off-season continues, analysts and bloggers alike are posting their predictions for next season, including myself.

Now, I know some of you don’t like my predictions, but that’s the beauty of it. It gets fans discussing and keeping themselves busy right up till kick-off of the first game of the season.
I have gone for the Green Bay Packers to win the Super Bowl next season, but a few NFL players think their NFC North rivals, Detroit Lions, could be there too.
More specifically, Lions DT Nick Fairley and RB Reggie Bush think their team can go to a Super Bowl. Whether they mean next season or not is a different matter.
It’s great to see that the ambition of going to the Super Bowl is alive in a team that went 4-12 last season. It’s the right mentality to have no matter what situation you’re in.
It’s not only just Lions players that are saying they could win a Super Bowl sometime soon.
St Louis Rams CB Cortland Finnegan
has recently come out and said that it will be the Lions that win a Super Bowl next, if his own team fails to do so.
Quite frankly, they have a point. With the number one WR in the NFL on your side, Calvin Johnson, who can break records in a 4-12 season, you’re definitely in with a shout. This guy achieved 1,964 receiving yards in 2012, so don’t look him off.
And now with the recently acquired RB Reggie Bush for the ground game, versatility is looking good for the Lions next season.
Who better to give the ball to these players than one of the best young QB’s in the NFL at the moment, Matthew Stafford. All is looking well on the Lions offense.
Let’s not forget on the other side of the ball too. They may have released Kyle Vanden Bosch and DE Cliff Avril to the Seattle Seahawks and LB Justin Durant to the Dallas Cowboys, but their defence is still pretty strong.
We’ve already mentioned DT Nick Fairley. There’s the brilliant pass rusher and fellow DT Ndamukong Suh, who can’t be messed with as he earned eight sacks
last season.
There’s also the LB duo of DeAndre Levy and Stephen Tulloch just behind them who combined to earn a total of 194 combined tackles in the 2012 season.
With all of this taken into contention, the Detriot Lions definitely look like a side capable of winning a Super Bowl. They shouldn’t just be cast aside because the odds are against them.
With the toughness of the NFC North though, it will be a difficult and challenging task for them to achieve this goal.
Do you think the Detroit Lions could win a Super Bowl in the next four years? Leave your answer in the comments section below.
