VIDEO: ALONSO’s BEST TEAM RADIO IN 2017
Here are the best team radio messages we have heard from Fernando...
Here we are for another weekend of Premier League football and we have some exciting games in store. These games include Burnley vs Manchester United, Everton vs Chelsea, and Tottenham vs Liverpool. Here are my predictions for this weekend.
All kick-offs at 3pm GMT unless stated.
Saturday
Burnley vs Manchester United (12:45pm) – Both sides are desperate for points as neither side has won a game yet this season. Burnley played well against Chelsea last time at home and should put up a better fight this weekend. However, the signing of Di Maria should bolster the Manchester United side to give them the win.
Prediction: Burnley 2-3 Manchester United
Manchester City vs Stoke – Manchester City picked up a nice win against Liverpool last time out, but Stoke only managed a draw against Hull. Looking at the record Manchester City have at home and the way they control games, there is no other outcome than three points to the home side.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Stoke
Newcastle vs Crystal Palace – Despite only one point and zero goals, Newcastle should be pleased with the way their side has been playing so far this season. Crystal Palace on the other hand is a different story which needs to change fast before it spirals out of control. Neil Warnock could change their fortunes but it won’t happen this weekend.
Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Crystal Palace
QPR vs Sunderland – QPR’s return back to the top flight hasn’t started well but with the arrival of new signings Eduardo Vargas, Leroy Fer and Mauricio Isla should boost their side. Sunderland did well last weekend to achieve a draw against Manchester United and I think another draw is on the cards this weekend.
Prediction: QPR 2-2 Sunderland
Swansea vs West Brom – Swansea have had a strong start to the season as they achieved two wins out of two, whilst West Brom is still searching for their first win. Swansea should win this game, but West Brom will be a tough side to beat.
Prediction: Swansea 2-0 West Brom
West Ham vs Southampton – West Ham have had a good start to the season and will look to continue this against a Southampton side looking to find their rhythm. This will be a close game and will likely finish in a draw.
Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Southampton
Everton vs Chelsea (5:30pm) – Everton could be sitting on six points after two games gone like their opponents Chelsea are. Instead, they’re on two points due to a lack of ability to hold on to the lead. This will be one of the games to watch this weekend, but I think Chelsea has enough quality within their squad to pick up a surprising win at Everton.
Prediction: Everton 1-2 Chelsea
Sunday
Aston Villa vs Hull (1:30pm) – Aston Villa have started the new season well despite the absence of Christian Benteke. This is mainly thanks to their new defence. Yet to concede a goal, Villa be looking to keep another clean sheet against Hull this weekend. Another close encounter and I think Aston Villa will edge out a win.
Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Hull
Tottenham vs Liverpool (1:30pm) – Both of these sides have had reasonable starts to the season, but they both really need to get themselves going if they want to stride and stay near the top of the table throughout the season. With the arrival of Mario Balotelli, I think Liverpool will rediscover the same style of play they once had whilst Suarez was at the club and hand Tottenham their first loss of the season.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-3 Liverpool
Leicester vs Arsenal (4pm) – Leicester have had a rough opening games to their Premier League return. Everton, Chelsea, and now Arsenal. Whilst home advantage will help them out like it did against Everton, Arsenal’s midfield is much more free-flowing and will dominate possession. This will be one of the key reasons why Arsenal wins this game.
Prediction: Leicester 1-3 Arsenal
